HOMECOMING 2007!!

Dust off those instruments!  Homecoming is almost here!

You are invited to join the marching band in the stands as River Hill plays Long Reach at the Homecoming football game on Saturday, October 13, 2007.  This will be a great opportunity to catch up with old friends and enjoy being part of the pep band (again!).

Here’s the schedule for the day.

12:00-12:45pm:  Check in at the table outside Room 206.  Pick up a pep band t-shirt and warm up in the band room.

1:00pm:            Line up to march into the stadium.  Alumni who march in and remain part of the pep band will not need a ticket to the game.

1:30pm:             Game begins. 

Half-Time:         Current River Hill Marching Band performs their field show, “Of Knights and Kings”.

End of Game:     Please return pep band t-shirts to the box in the band room. 

You can RSVP in one of two ways . . .

1)     Send an email to Mr. M. Joseph Fischer, Director of Bands with your name, graduation year and instrument.   Joe_fischer@hcpss.org

2)     Visit the River Hill High School Music Alumni Association Facebook site and RSVP through the Homecoming link.  Post your name, graduation year and instrument on the Wall.

Please respond by October 8^th so we can be sure to save you a seat and have music ready for you!  Also note that the school-owned instruments are being used by current students, so please bring your own instrument.  Percussionists should bring their own sticks but may play on the school’s drums.

Past Notices

In response to many requests, we are creating a River Hill Music Alumni group. The purpose of this group, which is open to all River Hill Music Program graduates, their families and friends, is to stay connected with the people in our extended music family and to give support to the current program. Some suggestions of how to support the current program have included: serving refreshments after concerts, sponsoring a dinner during band camp, organizing homecoming activities for music graduates, attending concerts, assisting with the music department alumni web page and participating in fundraisers. You may have some better ideas and we would love to hear them!

Another area of interest for the Music Alumni is keeping connected with the members of our music family. We would love to hear news about graduates as they proceed into college, military service, first jobs, families and all the other milestones that come with adulthood. Do you still love music and keep it part of your life in some way?

 Lastly, please assist us in getting the word out about our new River Hill Music Alumni group. We have been combing the archives for names of music program graduates, but unfortunately we are missing records from the earliest years of the school.
